A few weeks before I joined Celebrity cruises I was talking to an old friend in a bar in Birmingham about what were were doing for work. I said I was about to join Celebrity and one of the places the ship was visiting was Alaska.
My friend then said, the girl I am out with does the same job! So I went over to my friends friend, now remember I don't know this girl, and I introduced myself and we got chatting and had a great time. I took her email off her and said as a joke 'ok I will see you somewhere in Alaska some time'!
It turned out that the ship she was on The Mercury was docking with mine The Summit in Skagway one day so I emailed her and asked her if she wanted to meet for lunch.
Well as you can see we met had a nice lunch and we are still friends today, and this was over 7 years ago. So there you are the world is smaller than you think!
