Travelling with friends?

I have had many inquiries for cruises where there are two couples wanting to sail together.  This is not a problem, however the slight hitch is if they want cabins next to each other.

2014 sailings are selling fast and believe it or not availability on certain cabin grades is diminishing.

With Celebrity,  on their balcony cabins,  they alternate 2 berth and 3 and 4 berth cabins especially in the Mid ship area.  So as long as one of the couples doesn't mind that they are in a cabin which can accommodate 3 or 4 people then its okay.

The same hitch will be with Royal Caribbean too as their deck plans are similar.  P&O and Cunard have many more 2 berth cabins which are next door to each other.  Princess do alternate their cabins but again availability is better on this cruise line than Celebrity.

You also have to look at dining choices.  People who travel together tend to like to dine together.  If the space on a certain dining option is not available then this could bring another hitch into the equation.

So the moral of this blog is to avoid all this frustration book early.  Also remember for 2014 if you wait for any getaway offers, P&O and Cunard might follow Fred Olsens' terms and conditions that you will have to pay a supplement to choose a specific dining time!!
