P&O announce makeovers
P&O have announced that 3 of their ship will undergo refurbishments before 2014.
The Oceana which was launched in 2000, will be the first ship to go into dry dock, for 15 nights from December 5. The line is planning on spending £1 million on refurbishing the cabins, while Le Club, the ship's night club and bar area, will be totally redesigned and new equipment will be installed. The spa and Horizon Grill will also get a makeover. Oceana was built in 2000 as Ocean Princess for sister company Princess Cruises and transferred to P&O Cruises three years later.
The Ventura which was launched in 2008, will go into dry dock on March 22 next year, also for 15 days. The ship will include a number of new features including 18 new single cabins, the introduction of The Glass House wine bar and restaurant to replace the Ramblas bar area and a dance floor on the Atrium, all of which have proved popular on sister ship Azura.
The Arcadia will go into drydock in December next year. Some of its new features include 10 single cabins, which will take over the floor space of Electra, the night club onboard, plus some area of the current casino. The Globe, a secondary lounge, will become the new night club and it will receive a facelift and a glass wall to improve soundproofing. Ocean Grill, the Marco Pierre White restaurant on the ship, will also receive a new look.
