It's not what you know..........

After talking to a client who has just returned from a Celebrity cruise I was quite disturbed to hear a couple of complaints about the company.

As you know I do champion Celebrity (being a former crew mamber) for their service and extra little add ons which should make ytour cruise a memorable one.

My client's wife had a special birthday on board and most cruise lines do not allow us, at the booking stage, to add on and celebrations (they used to allow us a few years ago!)

My client went to guest services to ask for a small birthday cake to be delivered to thier table at dinner.  The girl threre said that would be no problem.  Once at dinner the cake did not arrive!

I said for any special occasions in the future ALWAYS talk to the Maitre De.  They are the people who have the power to do this.  It sounds like the hotel staff had this request lost in translation and not followed the request up.

This had left a bad taste with my client and with me as I suggested this Celebrity cruise.  My client has travelled with Royal Caribbean before and is now looking to go back to them.  I know they are the same company however Celebrity pride themselves in going the extra mile.....not in this case I might add!!

Apart from this the cruise went well.  Celebrity bosses......if you are reading this have a word with your front of house staff, it only takes a phone call.  You might be losing repeat passengers because of lack of attention!!!!
